I always loved when someone at Myth Busters crashed or blew something up and they showed it in super slow motion. Why do we love seeing stuff in super slow motion? Because we are able to see things we wouldn’t see in normal life.

A lot of people love gear reviews since most of the equipment is not available at your local dealer (Wal Mart and so on…). I couldn’t test-drive 90% of the stuff I ordered last year (and that was a LOT of gear). I trusted all the helpful people on twitter and the reviews on different blogs and I wasn’t disappointed.

Now that I’ve worked on lots of jobs with my current gear, I wanted to write about it.
What did I learn?
What is really necessary?
Why do I need this?
etc.

First off, I’ll write about a nice rig Zacuto sent me: the Zacuto Cross Fire.
They noticed that I worked with some of their gear like the baseplate, monitor arms, Z-Finder and sent me one of their demo units. Thanks to Sara for letting me test some Zacuto products.

For the next 2 weeks I’m on a shoot in Italy. Most of the time ‘run and gun’. Perfect situation for testing.
